Installation temperature components of bearing
In the installation of the main shaft, the temperature of the shaft usually changes bearing faster than that of the bearing seat, forming a temperature difference between the two parts. This is due to their different quality and heat dissipation capacity. Therefore, the shaft and inner ring spacer expand faster than the bearing pedestal and outer ring spacer.
With the axial expansion of the shaft and the elongation of the inner ring spacer, the axial load on each bearing increases and continues to increase until the thermal balance is reached. When the heat transferred by the bearing is balanced with the heat generated by the system, the temperature of the bearing seat can be stable. Therefore, if the temperature of the bearing seat is too high, the temperature of the bearing is also very high.
In face-to-face installation, the shaft expands radially and axially, and the inner ring spacer is longer, which expands faster than the outer ring spacer. This thermal expansion will cause additional axial load on the two inner rings, increasing the preload of the bearing.
On the contrary, in back-to-back installation, the axial expansion of the inner ring spacer tends to reduce the bearing preload rather than increase the preload.
